The North Shore AgroEcology Center (NSAEC) is a regenerative agriculture project of the Organic Consumers Association nestled in the hills overlooking Lake Superior in northern Minnesota. The Center consists of a regenerative farmstead with a Deep Winter Greenhouse, a young perennial food forest, mushroom log cultivation, medicinal herb terraces, an apiary, market and demonstration gardens, and a newly renovated barn event space.
Our mission is to trial, demonstrate and promote bio-regionally appropriate regenerative farm designs, techniques, technology, and products through on-site research and education, off-site consultation, and assisting new farmers to establish in the region.
Our vision is of a healthy and robust food system in the Minnesota North Shore Bio-Region, comprised of a thriving network of small-scale regenerative farms producing a variety of food, fiber, medicine, and woodland resources.
Developing a research farm requires time, commitment, and of course funding. Your donations to the North Shore AgroEcology Center will fund everyday operational and equipment expenses, educational programming including our community workshops and AgroForestry Apprenticeship Program, as well as our regional collaborations including our work growing climate-smart trees for planting in northern Minnesota forests with the Forest Assisted Migration Project.
We are asking for community support at a critical period when losses in federal funding threaten to put our programming on hold - now is the time local farmers and food systems need our support the most. Your generous donation will help keep the Center running during this unprecedented challenge.
